Cities: Skylines Is Building An 'Expanded Edition' On Switch 2 This Month
Skyscraper maker. Cities: Skylines launched in pretty rough shape on Switch back in 2018. It has been a long wait in the years since for an improved experience on our beloved Nintendo hybrids, and later this month, it sounds like we're getting it. Cities: Skylines - Expanded Edition is set to launch on Switch 2 on 28th October, fully revamped for the console with updated performance, visuals and controls.
Opinion: Elden Ring Is One Of My Favourite Games That I’ve Hardly Played
Going out on a Limgrave. I have started a new Elden Ring save file on four separate occasions now, and I have absolutely adored my time with each of them. And yet, despite putting 15-20 hours minimum into each new load, my current Switch 2 playthrough is the first time that I've managed to push through the 'tutorial area'. I need to do some explaining here, because if you have never ventured into the Lands Between, then three save files and 60+ hours spent in a tutorial sounds insane. However, in the grand scheme of things, it's not that bad.
Random: UK Retailer Lists Theatrhythm Sticker Set For A Whopping £499
At least it's half price, though. UK retailer Sports Direct doesn't exactly have the best reputation; especially following the acquisition of GAME in 2019 by owner Frasers Group. GAME in particular has often been slammed for its high prices, even before its acquisition. But a listing on the website for Sports Direct / GAME for a Theatrhythm Final Fantasy sticker set – yes, a sticker set – is quite beyond the pale. Read the full article on nintendolife.com
Review: Order Of The Sinking Star (Switch 2) - Intense, Sometimes Gruelling, But Always Inventive
What a puzzler. Order of the Sinking Star is not for the weak-willed. The latest puzzle adventure from Jonathan Blow (Braid, The Witness) makes the player earn their wins, rewarding them with an intriguing, slowly unfurling story set in a mystical plane beyond comprehension. My many hours spent staring at these puzzle boards with steam blowing out of my ears and veins popping out of my forehead made for a sometimes painful experience, but one that left me appreciating the genius of the game’s design.
Resident Evil Requiem's Writer Reveals What The Upcoming DLC Might Be About
Well, part of it at least. When Resident Evil Requiem launched to critical acclaim and became the fastest-selling entry in the franchise, director Koshi Nakanishi revealed that work would continue and that it would receive a DLC expansion in the future. Now, thanks to an interview with Requiem's writer Haris Orkin, we have a vague idea of what it might be about. Part of it, at least. Just be aware that the following information will contain spoilers for Requiem's main campaign, so if you've yet to play it and are keen to remain spoiler-free,
Pokémon Pokopia’s New Mystery Gift Distribution Is Now Available
Free furniture! If you didn't already know, the soundtrack was created by composer and musician ASADI (aka Danny Asadi). They previously called on him to compose the score for Ubisoft's Rogue Prince of Persia soundtrack. Read the full article on nintendolife.com

Nintendo Life eShop Selects (September 2026)
Our picks for the best eShop games on Switch 1 & 2 in September. September came and went, which means it's time to look back over the bounty it brought and place three of the Switch (2) eShop games we've reviewed last month on a podium. (You'll have to excuse the tardiness, we're a couple of days late this month.) We've got six games that scored at least 7/10 in time for our monthly face-off. As a reminder, these are Switch eShop games that don't have physical releases (including Game-Key Cards) at the time of writing.
Warhammer’s Take On Vampire Survivors Will Eat Our Free Time On Switch Next Month
Bolt Hell. Auroch Digital announced back in April that it was teaming up with Poncle on a Warhammer Vampire Survivors-like called, fittingly, Warhammer Survivors. Well, six months on, the dev has revealed its release date. Warhammer Survivors will launch on Switch 1 and 2 on 10th November — a time that we'll likely all be a little preoccupied with Zelda, but hey, it'll be a nice change of pace. The good news is that it'll only set you back £6.39 / $7.99 / €7.49, which feels like a small price to pay. Read the full article on nintendolife.com

“Nintendo Didn’t Swerve” - Product Growth Expert Comments On Zelda Vs. GTA 6
Let battle commence. In case you didn't notice by now, October is an exceptionally busy month for game releases. Why? Because every publisher and their nan is scrambling to avoid Rockstar's Grand Theft Auto VI in November. There are, however, still some games launching in November, perhaps most notably Barbie Rewind The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time. Yes, while GTA 6 is set to upend reality as we know it on 19th November, Ocarina of Time will hit shelves a little earlier on 5th November. Read the full article on nintendolife.com
Preview: Nintendo Switch Sports Resort Is More Of The Same, But Better
Wuhu Island: Be there or be (Spocco) Square. Back what seems like a lifetime ago, I got a chance to have a pop at Nintendo Switch Sports Resort at gamescom '26. No, I don’t mean the stuff that just anyone with a ticket and the patience to wait in an enormous queue could play. No, I got a chance to play sports that the average Joes could only dream of, like table tennis. I played prop plane, table tennis, archery, thumb wrestling, skateboarding, bowling, and boxing, but not necessarily in that order.
Review: KINGDOM HEARTS III + Re Mind (DLC) - A Fair Switch 2 Port Of An Enjoyable ‘Conclusion’
The end of the beginning. There was a lot of hype and excitement in the lead-up to 2019's Kingdom Hearts 3. It promised to finally conclude the Dark Seeker Saga that had kicked off way back on the PS2 in 2002. Expectations were sky-high and the final product didn't quite stick the landing, but it did manage to deliver plenty of that sincere Kingdom Hearts magic that kept us invested since the beginning.

“I Wanted To Challenge Myself” - Former WarioWare Director Talks Life After Nintendo
Wario Where? Earlier this year, Nintendo veteran and WarioWare legend Goro Abe announced that he was leaving the company and taking up a teaching post at the Osaka Electro-Communication University. Roughly seven months on, VGC got the chance to chat with the dev about his post-Nintendo life, and, rather expectedly, games are still very much on his mind. “Making games takes a lot of time, and I knew that based on my age and career that I could not make that many more games in the future,” Abe told VGC.

NBA 2K25 Sounds The Buzzer On Its Best Game Modes, With A Delist & Server Shutdown Inbound
MyCareer and MyTeam hit the bench. We NBA 2K fans are no strangers to an online server shutdown, but 2K is pushing the boat out even further this year, as it has announced that NBA 2K25 is being fully delisted later this month, with the ensuing server closings pruning the title's two best game modes (thanks for the heads up, VGC). The publisher recently took to the 2K25 Steam page to announce that the game will be removed from online storefronts on 30th October 2026, with all online content shutting up shop on 31st December.
Review: KINGDOM HEARTS HD 2.8 Final Chapter Prologue (Switch 2)
A bit of a sleeper. In the lead-up to Kingdom Hearts 3, Square Enix needed some fresh content to rebuild interest in the franchise after it had been dormant for years outside of mobile games. After porting over the collections of most of the earlier games to more modern platforms, the company then decided to squeeze out one last collection to hoover up the stragglers into one package. Dubbed Kingdom Hearts HD 2.8 Final Chapter Prologue, the value proposition on this one is undeniably lesser, but there’s still plenty to love about it.
Mini Review: KINGDOM HEARTS -HD 1.5+2.5 ReMIX- (Switch 2)
Not a cloud in sight. The Kingdom Hearts series has a long and storied history with Nintendo handhelds dating back all the way to the GBA, though (debatably) there have never been any mainline titles developed for them. The ultimate monkey's paw then curled with the Switch, when Square Enix answered fan wishes to port over remastered collections, but they were delivered as icky cloud games. Luckily the company has since seen the error of its ways, and it's now released native versions for Switch 2 that deliver the full and proper experience,
Review: The Witcher III: Wild Hunt - Remastered (Switch 2) - A Huge Upgrade For An All-Time Great
Rivi-awesome. Getting The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt to run on the original Nintendo Switch was an achievement in itself. Some obvious concessions had to be made, especially surrounding the visuals. Character models looked rather murky and the foliage around our protagonist Geralt had to be drastically toned down. With The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt - Remastered, that issue has mostly been resolved. Thanks to the increased power of the Switch 2, this adventure has never looked better.

Review: Minecraft Dungeons II (Switch 2) - A Fun But Flawed Dungeon-Crawling Sequel With Great Co-Op
Creepers, Skellies, oh my. A traditional adventure format seems an ill fit for something as freeform as Minecraft. The Markus 'Notch' Persson-created global phenomenon is an experience built on creativity with endless scope for experimentation, so constricting it within the boundaries of genre seems misguided. That said, the franchise has enough cultural pull that it drove audiences to brandish wild animals in movie theatres, so there is clear versatility in this IP.

“A Colossal Upgrade” - Digital Foundry Delivers Its Tech Verdict For The Witcher 3 Remastered On Switch 2
"easy to recommend". Digital Foundry has delivered its tech verdict for The Witcher 3 Remastered; a game that, for many, will be a completely free upgrade if you owned the original Switch release. Obviously, the difference in quality between Switch 1 and 2 is staggering, despite DF calling the original release one of the "most impressive feats" on Nintendo's hardware. Image quality is the highlight, with docked mode featuring dynamic resolution between 540p and 1080p, with DLSS outputting to a 1080p target.

The predictability continued, of course, with all concert dates commanding exceptionally high demand.

The team made decisions and optimisations "one by one". Despite this, these troubles haven't stopped Capcom from bringing the game to Switch 2.
